I wonder where the people that attend the Crest Hill KH will go; that’s 3 congregations, and I believe this KH was built in 2010.
The closest KHs are Joliet and Plainfield (unless they decide to sell those).I have attended the Crest Hill Kingdom Hall several times for a wedding and a funeral talk. The inside is modern and the outside sits in a beautiful rural setting. Must be sitting on several acres.
I will be seeing my cousin soon. Hopefully, he brings up that his Kingdom Hall is being deleted. I will play dumb and pretend I don't know anything about the Society closing the doors on all the congregations that attend this Kingdom Hall.
I will ask him several questions: Why is the Society closing the Kingdom Hall? Is it because the 3 congregations cannot pay the mortgage loans? What's going to happen to the property? Where will you be attending for your meetings? Are they planning on selling the property?

My cousin's Kingdom Hall is one of the 1300 that are being deleted. It is located in Crest Hill, Illinois. This beautiful property sits on at least 2 acres. There are 2 English speaking congregations and 1 Hispanic speaking congregation. Why are they being eliminated? Can all 3 congregations be behind on their monthly congregation expenses? If not, what are the reasons given from the Society as to why they are shuttering this Kingdom Hall down?
I'm going to keep an eye on this property if it ever comes up for sale!

My old congregation is being shuttered
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini just found out from my jehovah's witness cousin that my old congregation is being shuttered due to lack of elders, less than 20 members attending, and that the congregation cannot meet their monthly expenses.. here is a congregation that was started in 1975 with less than 15 members.
it grew to 185 members in the 1990's.
the congregation grew so large that the elders decided to split the congregation in two.

I took an internet stock photo of a random Kingdom Hall sign. That Kingdom Hall is in Georgia.
There is a post up right now showing where all the Kingdom Halls are being deleted.

That is one fantastic find! I just started a post :
My old congregation is being shuttered
My old congregation is being dissolved. My brother's congregation is being dissolved. My cousin's congregation is being dissolved. Close to 1300 congregations are being dissolved. Is anyone awake yet?

What is the location of this Kingdom Hall?
The congregations that are disbanding are in two different suburbs close to Chicago. The only congregations that are expanding are the Hispanic congregations.
I remember when my congregation was remodeled. We took out a loan for $60,000. Every member was asked for a monthly payment to pay off the loan. Some members paid $20 a month. Now they are being asked to find another Kingdom Hall.
Does anyone know if congregation remodeling loans are made by local banks or the Watchtower Society?

Here is a Kingdom Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota up for sale for $625,000. Since the Watchtower Society owns this facility, they shut down this congregation ( with dwindling numbers ) and put the facility up for sale. The faithful witnesses funded and helped build this Kingdom Hall, received no pay for their labor. The congregation members who maintained this property have no say in the matter. They dedicated their lives to Jehovah with nothing in return. All they receive is a new assignment to another Kingdom Hall that may be a greater driving distance.
I think the Watchtower Society are using the dwindling membership as a fine opportunity to sell off as much real estate as they can, to pay off all the lawsuits that have been settled and new ones that are pending.

With so many members passing away, some moving to Florida, a few divorces, teens leaving in droves and no new recruits, both congregations are being shut down. All remaining members are being told to attend their nearest congregation.
After giving their precious time, years of dedication, money donations and years of fellowship, the remaining members need to ask themselves, ''Where is this so-called ''Jehovah's Blessing?''
It saddens me that these remaining members refuse to admit that the Watchtower Society does not have their best interest in mind; only the survival of the Watchtower Society Corporation and its business interests!

May 1945: Gusen Concentration Camp. Martin Poetzinger (seated front row, second from left) poses with 23 other survivors shortly after their release.
FROM FINDAGRAVE.COM:
Martin Poetzinger, a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, finished his earthly course in the evening of Thursday, June 16, 1988,at Brooklyn Bethel.
He was born on July 25, 1904, in Munich, Germany. He was baptized on October 2, 1928 in symbol of his dedication to Jehovah God. He then entered the full time evangelizing work on October 1, 1930. He enjoyed various assignments in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Yugoslavia. Shortly after his marriage in 1936 to his wife Gertrud, they were arrested by the Nazi goverment and sent to concentration camps for nine years. After cruel imprisonment, he and his wife were reunited in 1945. Shortly after this, Martin began serving as a travelling overseer, visiting congregations and offering encouragement to the Witnesses in Germany. Martin attended and graduated from the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead in 1958, and in September 1977, he was appointed to serve on the Governing Body at world headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.Atlantis: Most experiences are false, exaggerated and a little twitching to make them more encouraging to all Jehovah's Witness members.
I did a little research. A brother Martin Poetzinger really did exist. I think they added in paragraph 7, “Jehovah, thank you for my new assignment. Help me to strengthen and encourage my brothers.” No one would ever say that while undergoing cruel imprisonment in a Nazi concentration camp!

nowwhat?
I would like to think prayer can help bring comfort. But that's it. There are no miracles, no Jehovah's hand, no intervening on an individual's behalf!
I would like to ask the posting member who gave a dislike on nowwhat? post:
If you brought to a hospital ( where you very sick and needed urgent medical care ), would you prefer:
a : a room where you, your family and minister prayed for God's medical intervention, left you without the care of nurses, doctors or medical equipment
b: a room where medical care was provided by nurses, doctors and medical equipment
